Stop shoulding yourself in the foot 😃

Now, this is rather a strange topic and one I hadn't expected to be writing about. Perhaps how to spell broccoli would be more likely, as I keep using a double L but it would be quite a short post! Anyway, it turns out that broccoli is a rather good teacher.
Recently I heard that Eckhart Tolle during a talk extolled the virtues of giving up complaining. Permanently. Unfortunately, I missed the talk, but I'm not going to complain about that.
Amrit Jiwan is probably a terrible name for my business from one point of view. It means nothing to the vast majority of people, it is actually pronounced Amrit JEEVAN so many people might spell it wrong if they know how to say it, or pronounce it wrong if they don't - haha!

Yesterday a gong arrived in the post. Not a small thing, a large 24-inch work of art that now vibrates in our spare bedroom furthest away from the neighbours. It is a lovely thing creating complex layers of sound that you feel throughout the body as well as hear. Its mantra is Ong. It is the only thing it can say, although it can say it in different ways.
I have been gathering up all my old meditation newsletters and I have noticed that some of my themes do keep getting repeated. I do apologise if you've noticed too! I guess I normally write about what is coming up for me, and some of these themes seem to need a lot of practice!
A friend came up with a wonderful phrase this week, he decided he was going to be more vertical, after realising that he'd been being too laid back, too horizontal, in some areas of his life. I found it rather inspiring — it spoke to me of being honest, being straight and being empowered.
