It's all in the name
Amrit Jiwan is probably a terrible name for my business from one point of view. It means nothing to the vast majority of people, it is actually pronounced Amrit JEEVAN so many people might spell it wrong if they know how to say it, or pronounce it wrong if they don't — haha!
But in a way, I don't like the websites that feel like an oversell. I find it really off-putting personally, so although I tried to come up with a different name, I didn't want to have a name like BeYourAmazing.com or TransformYourLife.co.uk. There's so many of them and I wanted to be different. My marketing skills suck and I don't care. I do wonder if 6 months down the line I will change my mind!
So I have called it Amrit Jiwan (pronounced JEEVAN) which is the name given to me in the Kundalini Yoga tradition that I teach. And it's a name that is meaningful and aspirational for me in terms of who I want to be, how I want to live and what I want to give.
Amrit Jiwan means nectar of life. The bliss of life that comes from meditation and connection with yourself and filters into the rest of life. The happiness that isn't dependent on external conditions of the right weather or house or job or on you being different. It's the peace and joy that appears when the mind isn't judging / planning / worrying / rehashing / rehearsing or daydreaming... just being. And when it's there it feels incredible!
So I am practising this stilling of the mind and teaching this and providing environments to experience this (the yoga and the gong are amazing for this!). As well as teaching tools to include, welcome and take care of the whole array of emotions and reactivity that arise with the thinking mind, as this will always be a part of life too. Enabling you and me to really live life!
Wishing you well on your journey!!
