A meditation to help you sleep
This guided meditation is designed to help you drift off to sleep.
Meditation is supposed to be about staying awake, but often trying to go to sleep gets in the way of going to sleep. So try staying awake instead! After discovering during the years of teaching mindfulness and meditation how common it was for people to fall asleep whilst I was guiding meditations, I realised that this potentially could be my real talent.

With any meditation practice it's important to throw away your expectations about how it should feel and what you should experience. Every meditation is different, every moment is unique! All you have to do is be curious and kind and allow each moment to be as it is. And, yes, this includes noticing that there are lots of thoughts this moment or noticing that you keep getting completely distracted. Then keep persistently bringing the mind back to the focus, again and again. Meditation is a training for the mind and the meditations that don’t go so “well” are a wonderful opportuntity to learn about the mind, body and emotions with some gentle curiosity.
