Sounds, sensations, feelings, thoughts, all are welcomed in awareness, no need to hold on to or push away anything. The space of awareness can hold everything.

With any meditation practise it's important to throw away your expectations about how it should feel and what you should experience. Every meditation is different, every moment is unique. All you have to do is be curious and kind and allow each moment to be as it is. The thought that arises that says "I can't do this" or "this definitely isn't welcomed" can be included and welcomed too in awareness. Nothing to get rid of. Nowhere to get to.
