I am committed to protecting your personal information.

This privacy policy covers any information I receive about you when you interact with this website. If you have any questions please contact me.

What information do I collect about you, what do I use it for, and where is it stored?

When you interact with AmritJiwan.com you sometimes provide personal information. 

For the mailing list subscribe form, I collect your name and email so I can contact you to provide updates on new reflections, classes, offers and events. Your information is stored securely in MailChimp. You can change your details or unsubscribe at any time using the links at the bottom of any email you receive from me.

When you book an appointment with me, I ask you to provide your name, phone number and email and in some instances your address so that I can contact you and provide services to you. In many cases our first meeting will be on the phone. You can optionally provide more information to help me understand your needs. This information you can update using the link from the confirmation email you receive. I use an online service called Acuity Scheduling to collect and store this information.

For payments related to booking appointments, I do not store credit card details. Payments are taken through Acuity Scheduling and Stripe.

Do I share your data?

I will never sell or share any of your personal details with any 3rd parties, except if I am legally required to do so, or to provide services that you have requested, for example to the 3rd parties named above.

The right to be forgotten

I keep your data until you indicate that you no longer want to receive information from me. You have the right to be ‘forgotten’, which means that if you request, I will remove all the data that I hold on you from my systems. 

If you have made a booking within the last 12 months I need to retain your details for two years for administrative purposes.  Records of financial transactions will need to be held for seven years for accountancy and audit purposes.

How can I see what information you hold on me?

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (which is effective from May 2018) you can request a report detailing the information I hold about you. To obtain a report, please contact me.

I will aim to issue an initial response to all enquiries within twenty working days, and offer a full response to all information access requests within six weeks. If I require additional time, I will keep you informed.

The following information will be required before your access request is granted:

  • Your full name and contact details

  • Your relationship to Amrit Jiwan

  • A copy of your passport or national ID card

Reports will be sent by email or post. I reserve the right to charge a reasonable administrative fee for additional copies of the same information.
