Meditation to feel supported by your parents

This is a lovely meditation to feel calm and at ease within yourself. All of us, at times had moments where our needs weren’t met as a child and it can lead to us looking to recreate situations where we are still trying to get these needs met. If you recognise this as a pattern this could be a good meditation for you.

Posture: Sit with a straight spine, the hips should be above the knees. Bring the hands on top of the opposite shoulders with the elbows relaxed down. Tuck the chin down.

Breath: Breathe consciously long and deep.

To End: Inhale, twist to the left and squeeze all the muscles in the body for 10 seconds, exhale forcefully through the mouth (cannonfire) as you turn back to the centre. Repeat to the right.

Music: (optional) Listen to Wah Yantee. There are lots of versions available, my current favourite is by Guru Shabad Singh. https://www.spiritvoyage.com/mp3download/Ong/Guru-Shabad-Singh-Khalsa/ALB-001811.aspx

Time: 7 minutes

This meditation comes from the teachings of Yogi Bhajan via Guru Dev, the master of Sat Nam Rasayan.
